Meet Katie
“At the heart of the counselling process is the relationship between the counsellor and the client. Therefore, for you to decide that I might be the person you would like to work with I think it’s important to tell you about me and what makes me qualified to be a counsellor.”
My name is Katie Frisby and this page will give you a bit of additional information about me to help you decide if you want to work with me.
Being a trained and ethical counsellor is very important to me. I have a CPCAB Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling and I am registered with the National Counselling & Psychotherapy Society. This membership reassures you that they have checked my training, qualifications and insurance.
At the core I work as a person centred counsellor, but I have completed training in other counselling fields such as psychodynamic and transactional analysis. My role is not to tell you what to do or how to ‘fix’ yourselves, instead our work will enable you to find the tools you have inside you to make the changes you want.
In addition to the counselling training, I have trained in topics such as bereavement, shame, abuse, ADHD, autism, menopause, anxiety, depression and working with panic attacks.
On a personal level I have struggled with anxiety and panic attacks myself, so I understand what it’s like to find a counsellor to support you.
