What is Counselling?

Counselling is simply you talking and me listening – difficult to believe that this can have such a massive impact on our lives. All the studies show that talking about our problems and sharing our pain with someone we can trust can be hugely healing and positive.

Why have Counselling?

Why have Counselling?

Imagining an iceberg is an excellent way of looking at ourselves. We have the bit that everyone can see moving around the water, but underneath the water there is a lot of stuff that we don’t show to everyone, and we keep hidden away. These are the things that can cause us conflict, stress and anxiety and are the things its good to talk about.

Your Counselling Experience

Your Counselling Experience

Counselling will enable you to unravel your feelings, identify your own needs or help you with any difficult decisions you are currently facing.

At the heart of the counselling process is the relationship between you and your counsellor. The thought of making any changes in our lives can be overwhelming and confusing. My role is to ensure that I provide you with a place where you can talk to me about whatever you need to, enabling you to get the support you need right now.

Finding the right counsellor to support you is important, as at the heart of the success of the counselling will be your relationship with them. To help you with this I can reassure you that I am fully trained, qualified, insured and registered with an ethical body. I use counselling and psychological theory to underpin our work together. I also know from personal experience what it is like to struggle with my mental health.

I offer face to face, on-line or telephone counselling and work with anyone aged over 13 years.

Please have a look around my website to learn more about me, the counselling services I offer and how the relationship will work. If you have any queries, please feel free to drop me a line.

I started my own counselling journey by visiting a counsellor after suffering with anxiety and panic attacks for as long as I can remember. After this I decided to train and qualify as a counsellor. I have experience of working with issues like anxiety, historic abuse or relationship problems. I also have specific qualifications for working with bereavement and loss.

Please have a look around my website to learn more about me, my qualifications, experience and how our counselling relationship will work.

At the heart of the counselling process is the relationship between the counsellor and client. Therefore, for you to decide that I might be the person you would like to work with I think it’s important to tell you about me and what makes me qualified to be a counsellor.
